5 Tips To Help Clear Mental Blocks
Recognising the mental blocks that limit your success is probably the most important step you can take on your journey to running a successful business.
Mental blocks tend to begin when you are just a child and quickly become normal for you. You become so used to their existence that you fail to even question them at times. You learn to limit yourself and blindly accept the criticisms of your family members, teachers, peers, work colleagues and even strangers!
Here are 5 tips to help clear mental blocks, to help you achieve the success you deserve:
1. Accept help from others
Life is too short to do every.single.thing yourself! Not to mention, there are way more important things that you could or should be doing to make money in your business. You will hear me harp on about paying with money or your time, what is more important to you? or free yourself up for the more important things!
- Automate anything you can so things get done without you even needing to think about it. Set up systems, so you can free up your time.
- Outsource the stuff that takes you too long to do, or that you just don’t like doing. Focus your energy on your zone of genius, the money-making activities & helping your clients.
- If there are two things you should get as soon as you start a business, it’s a VA and a Coach.
Don’t wait. These two things are game changers and will get you to your goals waayyyyy faster than doing it alone.
2. You don’t need to know everything about everything.
I was a high school dropout, and was constantly comparing myself to my ‘educated’ workmates. But, I quickly realised that the percentage of highly successful people who failed to complete high school or didn’t get ‘good’ grades is staggering!
While a lack of education can prevent you from becoming a rocket scientist, or a brain surgeon, it’s possible you already have all the skills you require to be successful in your chosen field.
- Know your zone of genius
- Do what you are passionate about
- Learn as much as you can to add value to your ideal customers
- Live everyday with purpose.
Don’t compare yourself to others and definitely don’t let imposter syndrome stop you from being successful.
Studies have shown that we tend to underestimate ourselves and overestimate others. And that opens the door to old mate ‘Imposter Syndrome’
Sometimes we compare ourselves to our competitors and give our ‘competition’ more credit than they deserve. You do you, and let them do them.
While I have been building my business, I’ve seen so many people build highly successful and profitable online businesses – and in truth, some of their stuff isn’t even that good!
Success isn’t about how good you are, it’s about knowing how to apply your knowledge and how to market your business so you attract your ideal customers.
3. Have the courage to believe that you are capable
The most successful people tend to overestimate their abilities at first. However, studies have shown that these same people eventually grow to meet their expectations.
You’ve probably heard this before as Be, Do Have:
- Who do you need to BE, to DO what you need, so that you can HAVE what you desire in life?
- Have a go at filling in the blanks for yourself….
Who do you need to BE__________________________________
(Example of the type of person you need to show up as)
To DO what you need ___________________________________
(Example of what you need to do)
So that you can HAVE what you desire in life___________________________
(Example of what you desire in your life)
Your self-doubt is limiting your ability to take action, so have the courage to believe that you are capable. You’ll ultimately prove yourself right.
4. Believe that your goals ARE achievable
The power of manifestation baby! If you think you can, you will. If you think you can’t, you won’t.
I know that any goal is achievable with the right mindset and the right plan. Goals are just a dream, if you don’t have a plan.
Be objective with your goals. Are they really too challenging? Or are you falling into one of the mindset traps above?
What is one action you can take right now to move you one step closer to where you want to be?
5. YOU are your super power!
Are you afraid to be yourself? Afraid to be really seen as YOU? You are definitely not alone here.
This is one of the biggest problems entrepreneurs face. And it’s especially common in us ladies too.
You’re afraid of being judged, of someone calling you out on something, or disagreeing with you. You worry about how you come across on video or avoid sharing selfies on social media in case someone says something mean.
The thing is, you are YOU. And THAT is your super power. It’s what will bring your ideal customers right to you, it’s WHY they will follow you, why they watch you and why they comment on your posts.
Your people will love you, for YOU.
And if they don’t, all good, they are NOT your people. Simple as that.
Success starts in the mind. You have a powerful ability to succeed if you can enhance your mental state.
Learn to recognise these limiting beliefs and you can quickly shift your mindset into one of positivity, action & success!
